I’m going to Berlin! Next week, I’m giving talks at Tech-Ed Europe on two of my favorite topics:

  • What's New in Microsoft ASP.NET Model-View-Controller

ASP.NET Model-View-Controller (MVC) 2 introduces new features to make you more productive when building an ASP.NET MVC application. Templated helpers allow automatically associatiating edit and display elements with data types. Areas provide a means of dividing a large Web application into multiple projects. Data annotations allow attaching metadata attributes on a model to control validation.

  • Microsoft ASP.NET AJAX: Taking AJAX to the Next Level

Hear how ASP.NET AJAX 4.0 makes building pure client-side AJAX Web applications even easier, and watch us build an entire data-driven ASP.NET AJAX application from start to finish by taking advantage of only JavaScript, HTML pages, and Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) services. Also learn about new ASP.NET AJAX features including the DataView control, declarative templates, live client-side data binding, WCF, and REST integration.

The conference has sold out, but you can register for the wait list:

Hello Stephen,

Thank you for all those lessons on asp.net mvc. They were really useful. How useful? My first ASP.Net MVC app is now online (though I am fixing bugs). It's called codebix.com and you're in it.

It will be production quality in the next 15 days.

Thanks again.

AJAX is simply were it is at. We've started developing all of our online UI's with it. Between that and Jquery you've got a really powerful combo.

Hi Stephen

Thanks for an interesting overview about MVC 2.0 today at Berlin.
Your session was my personal highlight of a weak conference so far.

Hi Stephen,

i also have enjoyed your MVC 2.0 session in Berlin this evening.
I'm one of the two guys who tried to pin you down to a statement on Data Annotation Validators after your sessions, so sorry for that ;o) Keep on going...

But i like to know if someone else feels this pain and i found some interessting questions on your blog post "ASP.NET MVC Tip #43 – Use Data Annotation Validators" especially the first one. Unfortunately the question is not answered, but for me it's the same question. So what will be your answer?

Please don't get me wrong - i love the MVC Framework (because that's the way the web works), but in real world applications we often has to deal with more complex scenarios then the ones shown in tons of code examples and sample applications around ASP.NET MVC.

Maybe it's a more general topic of how to provide some or even more information as a basis for decisions on when to use ASP.NET MVC and when better not to use it.

What do you think?

Cheers
Marc

I really like the new features to ASP.NET. Being able to divide in to multiple projects is a feature that was well needed. Thanks!
